TCC Sanctuary

Tehachapi Community Church, is the oldest protestant church in town. Its sanctuary, built in 1928, has survived the 1952 earthquake and the ravages of weather and time. Now the church is appealing to the community for help in raising funds for needed repairs and restoration.

Established in 1920, TCC has served the community for 105 years. Many people have attended this church during those years. Many who once attended have, moved away, joined other churches, or don’t attend anymore. All of those people probably have good memories of TCC. In all those years many were married in the sanctuary. Many attended Bible School or Sunday School. Many funerals were conducted in the sanctuary. Friendship Hall was used, and continues to be used, by groups and private parties for various meetings and functions.

A generous supporter, Lynne Bauer, learned of the need of the church and donated a quilt as a means to raise funds to restore and maintain the sanctuary. She is not a church member, but is as kind as the message on the quilt she made. It is a bee quilt which represents good values with the words such as “Bee Kind; Bee Sweet; Bee Humble.”

This beautiful quilt will be presented to one ticket holder on November 23. If you have benefited in any way from the Tehachapi Community Church, or are willing to preserve its history and importance in Tehachapi, will you please donate $10 per ticket to this cause
