Kindness in Our Community- An Intentional Lenten Practice

The world’s religions encourage practicing compassion and kindness.  Take the challenge!  Draw closer to the one we worship, the divine source of love by practicing unearned kindnesses, and sharing your experiences with others on this journey at our weekly Friday gatherings.  May you feel the Creator close at hand, ceaselessly providing kindnesses to you!

Let the journey begin:

Ash Wednesday, March 5, Taize Prayer Service

Join us Wednesday, March 5th at 12:10 PM for a meditative Taize service and imposition of ashes in the sanctuary.

First Friday ~ March 7th from 5 PM to 8 PM  ” Bread, Butter and Blessings”

Come to Friendship Hall to take part in the fun of making and eating delicious fresh bread and butter on this World Day of Prayer.

Friday, March 14th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM     “Food, Drink and Hospitality”

Join our soup supper for the soul while sharing your kindness practices and hearing about others.  There will be kid-friendly activities, music, and two guest speakers from our kindness community:  Margaret Willer from the Salvation Army and Jan Combs from TCCC’s ESL Program.

Friday, March 21st from 5:30 to 7 PM  “Clothing Swap”

Join our soup supper for the soul while sharing your kindness practices and hearing about others.  Before you come, clean out those closets.  Bring in your gently used clothing and have fun swapping for something new and different.

Friday, March 28th from 5:30 to 7 PM  “Healing Service”

First Friday~ April 4th from 5 to 8 PM  “Adopt a Worm: the Art of Composting”

Come adopt some native plants and learn how to grow delicious vegetables through the miracle of growing worms and composting.

Friday, April 11th from 5:30 to 7 PM  “Prison Neighbors”

Join our soup supper for the soul while sharing your kindness practices and hearing about others.  There will be kid-friendly activities, music, and guest speaker(s) discussing prison related ministries in our community.

Good Friday Service, April 18th at 7 PM

Come to the cross.  Join in compassion with all who suffer.  Easter awaits.
