Greetings! It was wonderful to have a week off and go hiking with Steve. Ah. Being in nature was just what we wanted. I am glad we can have church outdoors these days!
This coming Sunday we will meet for worship in Philip Marx Park again at 10:30. The conference call number will remain the same for those who prefer to call in: 717-275-8940, password 5379308. This Sunday, we will start sharing Faith Stories with each other. We did this several years ago, but it is a great way to get to know each other and how God has shown up in our lives. Nancy Franklin will share her story with us this week. We are encouraging everyone to take a turn and to invite a friend to church when you share your story.
The scripture this week is from Genesis 45:1-15, the story of Joseph and how God showed up in his life.
Yesterday, there were 2 pallets of food brought up from Bakersfield to the Salvation Army, thanks Chris Fickes for helping to unload! The Mission has let me know that they are signing a new contract to continue this food distribution for two more years!! They will also have produce and milk added at some point. I have been in discussion with others in Tehachapi to try and arrange drivers. I’ll keep you posted.
Have a great day!
Blessings, Pastor Nancy
Last summer, Pastor Nancy took a well-deserved Sabbatical.
In her absence, guest speakers filled the pulpit each Sunday, including some of our own members. Below are a few pictures from those Sundays…
Progressive theology is shared in a moving, joyful and friendly worship experience. Each service includes a Children’s Message, hymn singing, a variety of musical selections, and inspirational readings from many sources.
Open Communion is normally served on the first Sunday of every month. Also, on the fourth Sunday of every month we share a potluck luncheon, to which everyone is invited. Please join us even if you have not brought a food dish to share – there is always more than enough for everyone!

An elevator chair at the south door provides Disability Access to our sanctuary.
The nursery for children ages birth through 4-years old is available upon request in the church basement (just below the Sanctuary.) Call the Church Office at (661) 822-4443, if you would like to make use of the nursery on Sunday. Parents are also welcome to take their children there during church service, if necessary. Plans are to install an audio feed, so that anyone in the basement will still be able to hear what’s going on in the Sanctuary. A Children’s Message is provided in the worship service each week. After the Children’s Message, Sunday School is provided for all children ages 3 through Grade 7.
